Buying a refill? Check these three things.
If you already have a pump bottle you like, buying just a refill next time seems obvious. Before you choose, three things are worth checking.
Same product type
Liquid soap goes into a liquid soap bottle, shower gel into a shower gel bottle. Two products with similar names or the same size are not necessarily made for the same purpose.
Size is more than a number
Manufacturer lists include refills of 500, 700, 750 and 900 ml. Check the size of your bottle and how much you want to decant at once. A bigger pack is not automatically the better choice.
Keep it clean
When refilling, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, especially on the condition and cleaning of the bottle and on mixing different products. If packaging is not marked as refillable, do not assume it is.
Finding the match
